Sarah Long

 

Sarah Long Holland, member of the New Gallery Concert Series Board of Directors between 2009-12,  joins the New Gallery Concert Series Advisory Board as both an artist and an arts administrator.  She is Resource Development Manager for the New England Foundation for the Arts and is also active as a recitalist and opera singer.  A graduate of the Opera Institute at Boston University, the Manhattan School of Music, and Stanford University, Ms. Long Holland has performed in concert with the New Gallery Concert Series, the Berklee College of Music, the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra, the One World Symphony, and in recital at The Riverside Church in New York.  She has appeared as on the opera stage with Tulsa Opera, Harrisburg Opera, the Opera Company of Brooklyn, the Dell’Arte Opera Ensemble, and the Bronx Opera, and as a young artist with Central City Opera, Sarasota Opera, Opera North, and the Aspen Music Festival.  Favorite recent roles include Leonora in Il Trovatore, Desdemona in Otello, Vitellia in La Clemenza di Tito, Elettra in Idomeneo, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Mimì in La Bohème, and the title role in Suor Angelica.  Internationally, she has performed in concert in St. Petersburg, Russia with artists from the Mariinsky Academy, at the Mikkeli International Music Festival in Mikkeli, Finland, and at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome, Italy.  She is originally from Bethesda, Maryland, was a longtime resident of New York City, and currently resides in Boston with her husband, composer Jonathan Bailey Holland.  For additional information, please seewww.sarahlongsoprano.com  Sarah has been on the New Gallery Concert Series Board of Directors since 2009.
