Reconnect

In all of our 25 years of bringing new music and new visual art to our audiences, connection has always been a priority. Looking to the LGBTQ+ community as a beacon of hope and inspiration, tonight’s program invites us to reflect upon our humanity, rekindle our commitment to our values, and reconnect with our deepest, truest selves.
Our musicians, equally committed to shining a light on the sights and sounds of our vibrant often unsung community, include the Jewel Box Ensemble with violinists MATTHEW VERA and GRANT HOUSTON, violist JASON AMOS, and cellist NICHOLAS JOHNSON, saxophonist NICK MAY of the “I Exist Project,” pianist SARAH BOB, and compositions by INTI FIGGIS-VIZUETA, JENNIFER HIGDON, ZOË A. WALLACE, a world premiere by J.ANDRÉS BALLESTEROS, a world premiere (and more!) by drummer MICHELLE TUCKER with her band, Jerry Sabatini (trumpet), Mike Cuadill (saxophone), Devon Gates (bass) & Miguel Landestoy (piano), and a NewGal-commissioned world premiere by ANNE QIAN WANG!
